I am 2300 miles away from anyone I know and I can not afford to take my car in right this minute. My car is a 1990 Lexus ES250. The coolant started leaking and when I went to put more coolant in I noticed there was a bunch of sand looking stuff. I was told it was probably from stop leak that was put in awhile back.
I think I just need to know how to flush it. I need to repair the leak also but that is going to have to wait since I cant take it into a mechanic. I have no idea how to do any of this. Please help me I need to do it soon! Thanks so much.

First if someones put stop leak in there and you don't or cant get to a mechanic any time soon i would not flush it out because the leak could get worse i would just top it off and keep an eye on it till you can get it replaced
Run your heater to keep your car engine temp down. Maybe add some more stop leak. Keep the coolant topped off, look for the screws around the coolant rubber hoses tighten them if they are loose.
Sometimes those hoses are only $10 dollars or so. You might see if they are leaking and then replace. Just buy one of those big containers of coolant, and some gallon jugs of water to mix if the coolant is not premixed.
